This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of Celebrex with the use of a COX-2 inhibitor in an acute coronary syndrome (ACS) trial. It was conducted in a population of patients with a history of coronary artery disease (CAD) or coronary artery bypass graft (CABG). The primary outcome was a composite of death and hospitalization for ACS.
We recruited a cohort of patients aged 20 to 60 years with a history of coronary artery disease (CAD) or CABG who had a diagnosis of an ACS. The Cox-2 inhibitor celecoxib was used as the COX-2 inhibitor. The secondary outcome was the composite of death and hospitalization for ACS.
The Cox-2 inhibitor celecoxib was a superior treatment for the treatment of ACS in a large prospective cohort (n = 8). In the overall cohort, there was a statistically significant decrease in the composite of death and hospitalization for ACS between celecoxib and placebo groups, but no difference in the composite of hospitalization for ACS between celecoxib and placebo groups. The celecoxib group had a significantly lower composite of death and hospitalization for ACS compared to the placebo group (n = 9).
Celecoxib significantly improved the patient's ability to walk with no significant difference between celecoxib and placebo groups. However, patients in the celecoxib group required longer time to reach the physical examination and required hospitalization for ACS. The celecoxib group had significantly lower composite of death and hospitalization for ACS compared to the placebo group. In addition, the celecoxib group had significantly lower composite of death and hospitalization for ACS compared to the placebo group.
Celecoxib is a superior treatment for the treatment of ACS in a large prospective cohort (n = 8) compared with the placebo. The results of this study showed that the COX-2 inhibitor celecoxib can be an effective treatment in the treatment of ACS. Celecoxib has a favorable safety profile and has a low risk of serious cardiovascular events.

COX-2 inhibitors are widely used in the management of heart failure. In a population of patients with an established diagnosis of cardiovascular disease, COX-2 inhibitors are preferred over nonselective NSAIDs due to their favorable safety and tolerability. However, the use of COX-2 inhibitors carries a risk of gastrointestinal toxicity including ulceration, bleeding, and perforation. NSAIDs are a class of drugs that cause gastrointestinal toxicity when administered for the first time in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD).
Celebrex, a COX-2 inhibitor, has shown an efficacy of up to 81% with a low incidence of cardiovascular side effects. The most common adverse effects reported with celecoxib include gastrointestinal disorders, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain.
